What Is Morning Ritual?

Morning rituals are simply some habits you creates for yourself to start the day with.

Some common morning rituals are meditation, journaling, exercise, yoga, reciting affirmations etc.

Morning ritual should be done intentionally and passionately because it is a part of your self care. Morning ritual is a thing that should be practiced every day.

In the past I had started my day any how but the day I understood the importance of morning ritual I designed my scattered morning activities into 6 health morning rituals.

These 6 healthy morning rituals help me start a daily self care routine with easy healthy habits:

6 Healthy Morning Rituals To Start Your Day

1. Meditation/Morning Devotion

The first thing I do in the morning once I am awake is my morning devotion/meditation practice. I do this kneeling beside my bed or walking around because that is how I can not be easily taking back to sleep, but you can practice morning devotion/meditation sitting upright as well as laying on the bed.

Morning devotion/meditation usually do not take long time 5 to 10 minutes.

2. Journalling

After my morning devotion/meditation, I always do some sort of reading and writing or journaling using my tablet with a complementary pen and journal. This is mostly to plan the daily activities.

3. Take Some Tea

For children the normal tea is no problem but I no long see any health benefit in that except it is my favorite supplement.

I usually start my mornings with a glass of water, followed by a cup of ginger tea. I takes this as a very necessary rituals in the morning except during fasting. The importance of hydrating after you wake up can not be overemphasized.

If you you don't like water in the morning adding lemon to your water is also a good one, if  a coffee is your own you can still have your cup of coffee in place of tea. But a glass of water in the morning makes sense.

4. Exercise

You do not need to do any big exercise if you don't like it at the moment, it is not a most to do yoga or go to a workout class or run. It does not matter what type of exercise you do in the morning just do something that will make you breathe well.

I start with by simply taking 10 Deep Breathe, a 50 Press-ups or Pushups and Running On A Sport. All this takes me less than 10 minutes.

You can start your day with a 20, 40 or 60 minute workout or do 30 minutes yoga. Just design something for yourself.

Time is not an excuse here! Only 5 minutes exercise will get your blood circulation OK.

5. Take A Cold Shower

What a cold shower in the morning does to your system is more than waking up by the sound of your alarm clock. A cold shower in the morning improve your circulation. The cold and warm stimuli constrict and dilate your blood vessels, this help in strengthening your immune system. Scientific studies have also shown that cold water reduces sore muscles and supports recovery after sports.

6. Eat Breakfast

I was an example of people that skip breakfast but it tells greatly on me until I realized it. You may not be hungry in the morning, but try and take a light breakfast, you should be better with a little piece of fruit.

Eating breakfasts fuels and empower your brain to smartly work on what ever job the day have for you. Eating breakfast will also help get your metabolism going well and smooth.

Why A Morning Riual Is Important To You

Have you noticed that for sure, that your head constantly turns to thoughts in the evening and that you find it difficult to calm down? Though a ritual can help you break through but the step is usually difficult.

For that I decided to focus on morning rituals for myself and my readers. In the morning the head is still free, the implementation is easier and directing the day for success, no matter how small, it is ideal to program your mindset for a successful day.

The Morning Ritual Is A Hormone Booster

For example, take a drink of water, a cup of lime juice, and some pink Himalayan salt (for those around Pakistan and them that have asses to pink salt) to kick start your hormones and your digestion.

The Morning Ritual As A Little Success

Doing 20 Press-ups or  Pushups every day after getting up from bed or simply making your bed before you start the day can already be used as a ritual.

It's not a difficult task to do 20 (or more or less depending on your level) Press-ups/Pushups or making your bed. Still, it's something you don't want to do right after getting up. You will surely know that when you come to your bedroom in the evening and the duvets are just as they were when you first got up.

If you perform these small, simple tasks directly, your day will start with discipline and a small success. You celebrate yourself a little that you did it, although you don't find it so cool. This requires a more positive mindset for the rest of your day.

Incidentally, this is a technique that is used in the military. While most instructors only insist that the bed be made, the US Marines explain it with exactly this argument.

If you pay attention to the little things, you also pay attention to the big picture and if you carry out small tasks in the discipline, you develop a lot more of them.

Where Should I Start?

If you are completely new to morning rituals, then start with the drink of water, lime juice and Himalayan salt (if you get it), brush your teeth. To get the best success from your drink, you should drink it on an empty stomach. It is better to brush your teeth beforehand, or wait at least 30 minutes after ingestion to avoid brushing away your enamel with the acid of the lime and the salt.
