Complying To Change In A Changing World Of  Business. Your job responsibilities are changing. As both individuals and members of an organization. As employer or employee you need to prepare yourself to adapt/comply successfully to a rapidly changing business environment. This article presents few tips you can use to deal with change.

The primary measures you can take to comply to change include:

1. Realizing Your Situation

What is happening now around your job or business? Did you know that something is no longer as it use to be?  If you don’t know, you must make out some time to find out!

Ask Yourself Some Relevant Questions Like:

What is my mission?

What is the purpose of my job/business?

What are my key responsibilities?

What does my customers/employer expect of me?

What challenges stand in my way?

What resources do I have at your disposal?

How well was I performing?

What is the next move of change?    The children of Isaka

This are some questions you need answers to in other to move ahead otherwise you are in a  position to be overwhelmed by some unexpected forces of change.

At a time like this you need a lot of information. Many times people miss important information because they are selective perception, habit and specialized in keeping themselves from been exposed to ideas they might not want to hear.

For example, in the past I don't just want to hear anything *Network Marketing* so when you approach me with any idea like network marketing immediately I switch off.

Though this is human nature, but it is not a good strategy for handling change. Instead, face your fears and broaden your sources of information to explore new ideas. When you increase your awareness of change through a willingness accept new information, you will have a better advantage over them that tend to isolate themselves for fear.

Key-Point: Sport the trends which may be signaling change on the horizon while you gather information. Go for isolated facts that may fits together like the pieces of a puzzle. At any time you think have sported a trend calm down, be curious, then first investigate it for more details. Anticipate and prepare for change don't just react to change.

2. Understanding Change

When things happens the old way nothing has changed right? The on the contrary things are now happening in a strange manner other than the ways it use to be. That is change. This may happen to you in your work or business place.

The present trend of change did not start in year 2020 it was only aggravated by the covid -19  global pandemic.

For example,

Internet marketing did not start in the year 2020.

Online mall is not new.

Cashless policy did not start this year.

E-learning is not new.

E-commerce is not just starting.

The use of robotic is not new.

But all these started gradually and today the trend is becoming very strong. This is an obvious signal of change.

There are no longer blackboard in our schools, the class is gradually becoming paperless. Businesses are moving online, employers are moving online.

Organizations are employing bots and robots.

It is Cristal clear that things are no longer the same way they use to be.

You can not do the same thing the old way and expect the new result, it is like pushing a square rod into a round hole. It won't work.

Flexibility and a willingness to embrace change will make you a more valuable personality - some one who can reliably deal with many circumstances and different opportunities.

When you understand the possibilities created by change, theb you are more prepared to exploit them. You will no longer see change as something to fear, but as something to embrace your own advantage.

3. The Trends Of Change

Change is a permanent thing. This I'd not the first trend of change and it's definitely not going to be the last.

In the mid 1980s Microsoft, Bill Gates dominated the operating system market.

Yahoo was founded in 1994 Jerry Yang and David Fill.

Google was founded in 1996 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin

Global Service For  Mobile Communication (GSM) was introduced to Nigerian Market in 2001.

1980 - The world experienced the Industrial revolution. The it was organization employers looking for employees. A time when you don't look for job it was job looking for you.

1980 - The world experience the Computer revolution when analog computing system was changed to digital. Those who complied to the change are the billionaires of today.

1990 - The world experienced the Internet revolution when internet network spread over the world. In Nigerian the then SIM Card that sells for N50,000, N30,000, N20,000... are now buy one for N100  and get one for free. See how things change.

2010 - The world experienced the Information revolution, then the world become a global village. Where people from all nations attend meeting together online.

2020 - The world experienced the Connected Revolution where smart work pay more than hard work.

This is the current trend of change it just get aggravated with the covid - 19 global pandemic. Things may never be the same.you need to put on the required skill so to successfully contend with this force of change.

4. Build Your Skills And Keep Learning

Complying to change frequently requires the effective use of all your acquired skills. Complying to change may need you to go for the acquisition of new skills. As a person in business or job you need need to build up a skill base for self confidence in this trend of change  in other to deal with change successfully.

Learning is continues because in this trend of change many skills soon become obsolete. Educating yourself will heap you keep your skills current.

5. Other Tips

Aside from these major efforts, you can also take smaller measures to ensure that you are compatible with change and adapt easily to it:

Embrace Technology. Embrace technological change and learn how to use it for your own benefit. Don’t run from new technologies; try them!

Increase Your Speed. Greater opportunities come to organizations that can respond quickly. Customers value speed in providing services and delivering orders and are sometimes willing to pay extra for a quick response.

Learn to Live with Ambiguity and Uncertainty. Most people do not like ambiguity or uncertainty, which are major sources of anxiety, but they are also facts of life in this fast-changing world.

Act like an Entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are always concerned with doing their best and getting the most out of their employees. Why? Entrepreneurs behave this way because it’s their company, their responsibility to keep customers satisfied, their reputation, and their money.

Adding Value to the Organization. The organization should always be able to make a profit on your work. If you add value, you bring in a return on your work that is higher than your cost to the organization.

Know Your Niche. As a service provider, your job is to provide services to customers, whether internal or external. You need to understand your customers’ needs and then go out of your way to fulfill them. It is therefore important to keep in close contact with the customers you serve.

Use Of Google

Have you ever heard the word *Google Is Your Friend?* yes indeed Google is. With Google you can never lack information. There is virtually nothing you type on the Google that google will not provide at least little information about.

However, many people still don't exploit Google features to help themselves.

I realized that the fastest way to attack change is by exploiting Google via research and the use of information. Though it is true that there are lots off scammers online but when you type a keyword on the Google search engine it returns over 2,000 articles about that keyword, it is at your disposal to read as much, compare and contrast to see the fair view of what you are looking for.
