What is a low carbohydrate diet?

If you exercise intensively that may be more, but for the other people an average of 100 grams of carbohydrates per day is a good guideline.

By the way, here we mean by carbohydrates only sugars and starch. So as you find it in sweets, grains and many ready-made products.

With the ketogenic diet (short: keto diet ) you eat 20 to 50 grams of carbohydrates per day. This is less beneficial than a low-carb diet for a variety of reasons.


A ketogenic diet resembles a crash diet and is therefore very difficult for many people to maintain. In the long run, therefore, many people are unfortunately of no use.

What can you eat with a low-carbohydrate diet?
In contrast to a ketogenic diet, a low-carbohydrate diet is aimed at continuing to enjoy your food.

Because there are a lot of products that naturally contain little to no carbohydrates, there are so many products and ingredients that you can continue to eat.

But that's not all, if you follow a good low-carbohydrate diet and understand the basics, there is no need to count calories, points or carbohydrates .

The most important guideline of a good low-carbohydrate diet is: only eat unprocessed and natural food .

This food is often naturally low in carbohydrates. It is then almost impossible to get too many carbohydrates, so you do not have to count them.
